Bike Walk Golden Isles (BWGI) was formed in 2019, as a community advocacy organization of concerned citizens who want to make Glynn County and the Golden Isles a safer place to cycle, walk, run and roll. A board of directors was established, and we earned non-profit status in 2021.

In 2022, BWGI was awarded a grant from the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to expand our efforts. We are also funded through membership dues and donations. BWGI hosts a variety of safety classes, supports local events, and works with government officials and other nonprofits in order to increase safe and accessible ways to cycle, walk and roll.
