“Walk (or bike) With A…” Tour Guide

On Wednesday, April 15th, Road Scholars Linda Olsen and Fred Collins will share local SSI history during this walk and bike event starting at Saint Simons Island Public Library at 2:50 PM for a short introduction. The walk and ride will begin promptly at 3 PM.

Linda Olsen will guide the walking portion of this event.

To participate in the bike ride, attendees must provide their own bicycle and bike helmet (both required) to go on the 6-mile out-and-back bike ride with Fred Collins, with a stop or two along the way to talk about local SSI history.

This casual walk-and-talk series allows Golden Isles residents and visitors to engage with interesting leaders and impactful voices in our community. Our walk leaders typically take a Q & A-style approach, though occasionally provide a short-form lecture along the way. There is a pedestrian safety and Build-A-Better-Block element to this series: we make observations about accessibility along the route, noting the areas in need of improvement and the areas the city or county has done well.
