DESCRIPTION:The Heritage 5K Race and Heritage Walk for the 5th year on a course that takes you past some of Brunswick’s most historic African American business neighborhoods. The event will be followed by a family-friendly festival featuring community vendors\, food and drink\, entertainment\, and children’s activities. SUMMARY:Hooves to Freedom Trail Race (8K)
DESCRIPTION:Hooves to Freedom (formerly Superman) Trail Race will be held at the Moccasin Creek Off-Road Park in Blackshear GA on January 20\, 2024. The virtual race will take place on January 28. Click here to register.  \nMAP OF COMPLEX \nTHIS IS A TRAIL RUN; there will be some mud\, roots\, and sand. But most of the run is on open grassy fields.  \nDRONE VIDEO OF RACE COURSE   \nChip timing and finish line photo are provided by Bailey Race Management. This race will have a gun start. \nProceeds will benefit Hooves To Freedom\, a local non-profit based in Blackshear that supports the surrounding counties and offers Equine and animal-assisted activities for individuals ages 8-108. Our focus is to minister to those with mental\, cognitive\, and behavioral disorders. We also have specific activities for at-risk youth\, and victims of trauma\, abuse\, and grief. \nThis event is also a Celebration of the loving memory of our Superman\, Brandon Davis a great friend of Hooves to Freedom \nMulti-family discount provided. \nAwards: Overall\, Masters (40 and over)\, Grand Masters (50 and over) & Top 3 Male and Female Runners in each age group.\nAge Groups: 12 and under\, 13-19\, 20-24\, 25-29\, 30-34\,35-39\, 40-44\,45-49\, 50-54\, 55-59\, 60-66\,65-69\, 70+ \nLocal hand-crafted wood-burned awards. \nEach Participant will receive a 10th Anniversary gift. \nFees include a long sleeve Sports Tech T-Shirt. Registration must be in by Midnight 01/12 to reserve a shirt.

SUMMARY:Run for Recovery and Honor Walk
DESCRIPTION:From the race website: \nRun for Recovery is a Memory/Recovery Walk and 5k to support those that are battling addiction or are in recovery and/or honor those that have lost their battle to addiction.  5k will be timed and awards will be given to overall and age group participants. The Honor Walk is a 1-mile walk/run available as an alternative to the 5k. \nOur goal is to bring awareness about the struggles\, stigma\, and risks of substance abuse\, the resources available in our community for addiction and recovery\, and build community among those affected by addiction. \nAll proceeds will go to local organizations helping to provide these lifesaving resources. \nClick here for more info.
