SUMMARY:"Walk (or bike) With A..." Tour Guide
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, April 15th\, Road Scholars Linda Olsen and Fred Collins will share local SSI history during this walk and bike event starting at Saint Simons Island Public Library at 2:50 PM for a short introduction. The walk and ride will begin promptly at 3 PM. \nLinda Olsen will guide the walking portion of this event. \nTo participate in the bike ride\, attendees must provide their own bicycle and bike helmet (both required) to go on the 6-mile out-and-back bike ride with Fred Collins\, with a stop or two along the way to talk about local SSI history. \nThis casual walk-and-talk series allows Golden Isles residents and visitors to engage with interesting leaders and impactful voices in our community. Our walk leaders typically take a Q & A-style approach\, though occasionally provide a short-form lecture along the way. There is a pedestrian safety and Build-A-Better-Block element to this series: we make observations about accessibility along the route\, noting the areas in need of improvement and the areas the city or county has done well.

SUMMARY:BWGI Pedal Golden Isles 2025
DESCRIPTION:SAVE THE DATE \n Please join us for Pedal Golden Isles 2025! \nOn October 18th\, we will host our second annual all-levels\, family-friendly cycling fundraiser\, where riders participate in rides of 20\, 40\, or 62 miles through Glynn and Camden counties. In PGI’s inaugural year\, we drew 148 riders. Pedal Golden Isles promotes a healthy and active lifestyle\, and strengthens community ties\, while showcasing the beauty of our region. \nOne of the goals of Bike Walk Golden Isles is to promote safe cycling. SUMMARY:"Walk With A..." Youth Cycling Team
DESCRIPTION:Come along as the Bike Ride Across Georgia (BRAG) Gullah/Geechee Club leads us through Downtown Brunswick on June 10. These inspiring youth cyclists will have just returned from their ride across the state and will have some incredible stories to tell about their experience. \nOn the second Tuesday of each month\, Bike Walk Golden Isles hosts unique voices and community leaders to take us on a 2-mile\, family-friendly walk through Downtown Brunswick or SSI. Come along no matter your age or skill level! \nThis casual walk-and-talk series allows Golden Isles residents and visitors to engage with interesting leaders and impactful voices in our community. The entire walk is more of a Q & A session than it is a lecture. There is also a pedestrian safety and Build-A-Better-Block element to this series: we make observations about accessibility along the route\, noting the areas in need of improvement and the areas the city has done well. \n  \n \n
